Tools & Resources

Here are many of the tools and resources I use.

Creativity:

  • MindMeister - Online Mind Mapping, synchs with smartphone app. Find free version link on their footer.

Productivity:

  • Elance - Outsource what makes sense

Books - Non-Fiction that have made an impact:

  • Accidental Genius, Mark Levy - Teaches freewriting for unlocking creativity.
  • Anything You Want, Derek Sivers - Everything the founder of CDbaby.com learned in 12 years boiled down to about an hours read.  Excellent.  Also one of my favorite TED speakers.
  • How to Win Friends and Influence People, Dale Carnegie - Tenets to live by and get along with everyone.
  • Rework, Jason Fried - Business sense that works for me.
  • Spiritual Enlightenment Trilogy, Jed McKenna - These books are not for everyone so read the Amazon reviews but for me they helped tremendously in breaking down self-limiting belief systems and a profound influence on my philosophy.
  • The 4-Hour Workweek, Tim Ferriss - Great insights on lifestyle design with actual action items.
  • The Art of Happiness, Dalai Lama - The Dalai Lama's approach to happiness is unparalleled.
  • The Genius of Flexibility, Bob Cooley - Made progress in weeks that I hadn't made in years doing conventional stretching. Use the videos for examples but the knowledge from the book makes a difference.
  • The Primal Blueprint, Mark Sisson - This book got me living a more primal-modern lifestyle and has me in the best physical shape.
  • The Rock Warrior's Way, Arno Ilgner - This book is amazing and not just for climbing.  You could read this book with climbing just as a metaphor for life.  Great mental training.
  • Think and Grow Rich, Napolean Hill - Change your thoughts, change your life.
